Stainless steel 347 needle valves are made from an alloy of austenitic steel containing chromium, nickel and columbium (niobium). The alloy offers enhanced oxidation and corrosion resistance, especially at temperatures up to 1500°F. The mechanical features include good creep strength, tensile strength around 515 MPa, and good toughness.
